Just a mile from the club, the overheating alarm sounded and we shut down the engine. At first, I thought we just picked up a piece of trash in the intake but it was the impeller. After a lot of effort, we finally were able to remove the old impeller but the spare fell apart during installation. Unfortunately, the second spare impeller was sitting in my car back at the yacht club. We decided to start sailing and raised the main and spinnaker to get to the starting area but the winds were not favorable and it became mathematically impossible to make the start. We decided to just sail around and let the kids have fun and run the boat.
