Follow NERYC sailors via live GPS tracking during the Governor’s Cup Race

From Michael Wagner:

Four boats and sailing teams from NERYC will be heading down the bay this weekend in the 37th Governor’s Cup Yacht Race, a 70 mile race that begins on Friday in Annapolis, and ends many hours later at St. Mary’s College of Maryland. Over 150 boats are currently registered for the event, with a
variety of classes which will start in sequence.

Mark Hergan and the crew aboard MORNING STAR are sailing in the PHRF B Class with 22 other boats, which will get underway at 3:15pm.

Rich and Tucker Ellis, with Mike and Rachel Wagner as crew, will be sailing VALIANT TRI in the Multihull class with 16 boats, which starts at 3:20pm

Rick and Kyle Hanson, with Bob and Cindy Gamble (and others) as crew, will be sailing ROSALITA in the PHRF A2 class with 30 boats, which starts at 6:00pm

Barry and Jenn Lotter, with Gil Louw and Sharlene (and others) as crew, will be sailing LOTTERY, also in the PHRF A2 class starting at 6:00pm

One of the more unusual aspects of this event is that all competitor boats are assigned a GPS tracking device so that anyone with an internet connection can watch live tracking of the race on their computer.  So, you can keep track of how the NERYC teams are progressing down the bay by going to this web site on Friday afternoon/evening:
