Thursday Night at NERYC

Brenna sailed away from the fleet on the second leg of the race (A to C) until lightning and common sense force us to withdraw from the race. As you can see from the picture the rest of the fleet would need a big puff to catch us.

Windward sheeting car installed

DSC_7360, originally uploaded by hergan family.

I just have to figure out the main sheet and fine tune. I am going to have to switch out a few blocks in order to make it work.

Still need lines for the traveler.

Some old parts and some new (old) parts scattered on the deck

Plus a few old parts 9’6″ below the surface. It amazing how they just roll right out the back of the cockpit.

More Projects – changed out traveler car for a windward sheeting car

The old system made it impossible to adjust the traveler. I can’t wait to try it out during this weekend’s NERYC Invitational Race.

I was able to calibrate the instruments

DSC_7317, originally uploaded by hergan family.

The depth was reading 1 1/2 feet shallow and it has been adjusted to reflect the correct depth. However, I need to figure out how to adjust the AWA and TWA. When I purchased the boat the wand pointed aft and now it points forward with a windex on trailing edge. Now all the wind angle measurements are off by 180 degrees.
