We finished!

Now time for the crew to go swimming in 68 degree river water.

At this point in the day I was glad we were racing non-spin and did not have to go around the course one more time with the spin boats.

I was pleased with our race to the finish. We rounded D just ahead of First Love and we were able to pass E six minutes ahead of her. She rates 3 sec a mile faster and has cool kevlar sails.

Drifting to Mark E.

At this point we are within the 3 boat circle and the other blue hull boat pulled what I believe was a questionable maneuver as they rode a puff in from behind.

Windquest sailed into a big hole.

Winquest rates 87 and we rate 138. She needed to be quite a bit in front of us at this point in the race.

We caught the Spin fleet just before Mark E

The key was sailing a great circle route between G and E so we were closest to where the new wind was coming from.

Action from the Second leg of the race

IMAG1738c, originally uploaded by hergan family.

It was a crazy leg. At one point Solaris and Morning Star were 25 yards apart and both sailing to windward on opposite tacks going in the same direction. Several of our crew also went for a short swim during a lull in the breeze.
