Hollywood Casino Lights
Alex kept me company this evening as I jumped in the water around 8pm to clean the bottom of Morning Star before the race on Saturday. It was a perfect night before the Tropical Depression arrives tomorrow. When I jumped in the sky was clear with many stars and by the time we headed home the clouds were rolling in. Notice the halo in the clouds above “C” Dock. No, it is not a UFO but the search lights from the opening of the Hollywood Casino about 8 miles away.

We were the only ones on the docks this evening

Not many folks are willing to clean the bottom of their boat at 8pm. But it was the only time I had available before Saturday.

Race Course – NERYC Fall Race #2
PHRF A Course: START, G, B, G, B, FINISH (all marks to port)
Distance: 6.12 nm
Mag Bearings: 244/064
Wind: 5 to 8 knts, 230 degrees
Results: Skipper and his four crew had a great day. Only Alex did not take the helm but he was too busy fishing on the the IPAD below decks. Best comment was from Sydney when she was assisting me with taking down the #1 on the foredeck after the second spinnaker set: “This is cool.” Alex told me the best part of the day was being dragged on a line behind the boat on the way back to the dock. Caryn and Collen were great to sail with.

Caryn trimming the spinnaker
Caryn was a last minute addition to the crew. She is Morning Star’s first crew member from Hong Kong.
